
The Austin Police Department is requesting assistance from the community in apprehending a suspect linked to a recent robbery incident. The robbery, which is detailed in a press release issued on May 14th, took place at a Chevron Gas Station located at 400 S. Congress Ave., in the early hours of April 30.
As per the information provided by the APD, the incident unfolded between 1:45 a.m. and 2:15 a.m., during which the victim was forcibly deprived of his wallet. In the aftermath, it was found that the victim's credit card was used to buy cigarettes from a nearby station, indicating a potential link to the suspect described, who was caught on surveillance.
The suspect is a black male, assumed to be between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 5' 5" and weighing between 150-170 pounds. The individual, captured in the released photos, is bald, sports a black mustache and beard, and was last seen wearing a black "Juneteenth" themed t-shirt paired with blue jeans and white tennis shoes. The APD's Robbery Unit is examining the case and is eager to capture the suspect to prevent any further crimes.
Members of the public with any knowledge that might lead to the identification, or arrest of the suspect in question are encouraged to come forward. The authorities are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that assists in making an arrest in this case.
