Blaine residents are being invited to voice their opinions on proposed changes to the city's zoning ordinance concerning temporary signs. According to a public notice released by the City of Blaine, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on June 10, 2025, at the Blaine City Hall Council Chambers.
The case in question, numbered 25-0020, involves amendments put forth by the City of Blaine itself. With the hearing set for 7PM, locals have the opportunity to learn about and discuss the specifics of these proposed changes. A staff report will be available on the city's website a few days before the meeting, providing further details to those interested. As per usual procedure, the Planning Commission will not decide on the application but rather make a recommendation to the City Council, which will then have the final say.
For those unable to attend in person, the City offers multiple ways to participate in the civic process. Comments on the application can be submitted by email or mail to the Planning Department, but must be received by noon on the day before the hearing to be considered by the Planning Commission. Unsigned or anonymous submissions, however, will not be accepted.
Residents can also tune into the meeting via the City of Blaine cable channel on Comcast or through a livestream on the city’s website. Additionally, recordings of the meeting will be available for on-demand viewing, ensuring that everyone has access to the proceedings, regardless of scheduling conflicts. Individuals requiring an interpreter or other assistance are encouraged to contact Pat Robinson at the Planning Department well ahead of the meeting date.
