Yesterday afternoon, Drug Control Units from multiple Boston districts made a significant arrest in Dorchester, apprehending three men on charges related to firearms and drug trafficking. Boston Police Department reported that Mohamed Jalloh, Mekhi Phipps-Dedrick, and William Pope-Dedrick, all residents of Dorchester, were taken into custody following the execution of search warrants.

The operation commenced at around 1:44 p.m. at 30 Thane Street, where officers recovered two Glocks, significant amounts of cocaine, and marijuana, alongside close to $10,000 in cash. The firearms included a Glock 23 with a chambered round, twelve rounds in the magazine, and a Glock 26, also with a chambered round and fourteen rounds in the magazine. The police established the drugs to weigh approximately 1,985 grams of cocaine, and 55 grams of marijuana.

The suspects are set to face several charges, including multiple counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a large capacity feeding device, possession of ammunition without an FID card, trafficking cocaine (200 grams or more), possession with intent to distribute Class D, and a drug violation near a school park. While all three men face serious charges, Pope-Dedrick's record led to additional charges of Armed Career Criminal Level 2 and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 3rd Offense.

These arrests highlight the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and gun violence in the Boston area. The Drug Control Units, including officers from Districts C-6, D-14, E-13, and B-3 worked collaboratively to neutralize what appears to be a significant threat to community safety. The Boston Police Department's commitment to these issues, is clear and with the arraignment set in the Dorchester District Court, the justice system takes its course.
