A bodega cat named Snowy was reported stolen from Prince Deli on Cortelyou Road in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood. The five-month-old Persian, known locally, was allegedly taken last Thursday night, and the incident has drawn attention from area residents. According to CBS News New York, store manager and pet owner Ali Alesie described Snowy as "a family member for the whole neighborhood."

Surveillance footage captured a stranger, who was last seen carrying Snowy in their arms before heading west toward Marlborough Road. Alesie mentioned to CBS News New York that he did not recognize the individual from the video. Although Alesie provided the footage to the NYPD, there has been a delay in the investigation. According to Alesie, after employees at another bodega reported seeing the cat abandoned a few blocks away, authorities have ceased actively pursuing the case.

Efforts to locate Snowy have prompted a community response, with Aleise offering a reward for the cat’s safe return and customers voicing concern about the incident. "It's horrible because I have a pet. I have a cat at home. If somebody would steal it, I don't know what to say," customer Alina Moldan told CBS News New York in an interview.

"He's a little fluffy white one," another neighborhood resident described Snowy to Brooklyn News 12, recalling the kitten's playful antics and his endearing interaction with local children.

Alesie is urging anyone with information about the individuals seen in the surveillance video, or with any knowledge about Snowy's current whereabouts, to come forward. "My message is please bring it back. He's a family member," Alesie stated, as reported by CBS News New York. Residents and those with information are asked to contact Prince Deli and Juice Bar or the authorities.
