Charlotte residents should expect a deluge as the National Weather Service in Charlotte, N.C., has issued a statement highlighting a series of weather disruptions set to drench the region. According to the latest NWS' forecast, today will see "showers and possibly a thunderstorm" with the possibility of heavy rainfall. Commuters are advised to prepare for "patchy fog" and a high of 71 degrees, with southeast winds reaching up to 22 mph.

The weather is not slated to improve as we head into the night, with an ongoing chance of "showers and possibly a thunderstorm," and persistent fog likely to affect visibility. The low for tonight is predicted to hover around 64 degrees with southeast winds from 7 to 10 mph, and a continued 90% chance of precipitation. The Hazardous Weather Outlook, issued at 411 AM EDT Mon May 12 2025, warns of potential "isolated minor flooding of some urban and poor drainage areas."

Looking ahead, Tuesday's conditions don’t promise much relief with "showers and thunderstorms" forecasted, alongside "patchy fog" in the morning, and a high reaching near 77 degrees. Wednesday is expected to follow suit, featuring "rain and thunderstorms" with an approximate 80% chance of rain. In an update from the National Weather Service, "The heavy rainfall threat will continue through early Tuesday," with a possibility of "some isolated areas of nuisance to minor flooding."

The week, however, is set to take a turn on Thursday with a much welcomed "mostly sunny" forecast and a high near 85 degrees, with even warmer weather predicted for the coming weekend. Albeit, the region isn’t in the clear just yet, as there’s a scheduled 30 percent chance of showers entering Friday afternoon. But overall, hazardous weather conditions are "not expected" following the mid-week storms, offering some respite from the formidable start to the week, as per NWS.
