Last night, the Tampa Police Department took to social media to celebrate one of their own. Chief Bercaw was recognized with the prestigious 2025 Fort Brooke Soaring Eagle Award. The honor, which highlights the contributions of local leaders to the community and particularly to its youngest members, was announced in a Facebook post by the department.
The same post shared the spotlight with the Andrews family, congratulating them on their own honor for their enduring influence on community life. Given with the Soaring Eagle Award, the Andrews family's commendation creates a standing ovation from a community grateful for its benefactors' commitment.
Attributed to the Tampa Police Department's social media announcement, a nod was also given to the Police Explorers. They were thanked for their "great work," clearly a foundational stone for the department's youth engagement efforts. The Greater Tampa Bay Area Council was also acknowledged for their dedication to nurturing future generations, their investment paid in the currency of hope and guidance.
