The City of Tampa's Parking Division has achieved a notable distinction within the industry, having been awarded the status of an Accredited Parking Organization (APO), a title that places it amongst the nation's most esteemed in parking and mobility operations. The APO recognition is indicative of an organization's adherence to best practices across a spectrum of critical areas including customer service, professional development, sustainability, and access management, as reported by the City of Tampa's official announcement.
Achieving the APO status does not come without considerable effort; it entails a rigorous review process that evaluates over one hundred criteria spanning fourteen categories, plus an additional twenty-five mandatory criteria, so earning this accreditation is no small feat, it reflects a commitment to continuous improvement and the implementation of industry best practices, "It’s quite an achievement, which follows a lengthy and arduous review process," explained Shawn Conrad, CEO of the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI), "Parking at an accredited facility or operation assures the public that the organization adheres to a strict code of ethics and meets national and internationally endorsed standards for professionalism, accountability, responsibility, and performance," Conrad shared with the City of Tampa.
The significance of this accomplishment is multifold for the City of Tampa. The APO designation not only reinforces the Parking Division's dedication to service excellence but also establishes it as a model for others in the parking and mobility sector. Now, the City of Tampa's Parking Division is one of only four such entities across the entire State of Florida to possess this credential, a testament to the collective efforts of the team managed by Parking Division Manager Fed Revolte, who told the City of Tampa, "Providing top-tier service and operations across our many different facilities, combined with our team’s commitment to providing efficient, sustainable, and customer-focused parking services, has been instrumental in achieving this prestigious accreditation."
The official presentation of the APO Designation will occur at the IPMI conference scheduled to take place in Louisville, Kentucky, this June where the City of Tampa's Parking Division will be formally recognized, thus propelling their visibility on a national level, and undoubtedly setting the benchmark for existing and future operations within the realm of parking and mobility services.
