For those living in Clackamas County looking to tie the knot or jet off on international travels, Clerk Catherine McMullen has announced expanded access to key services. The county's walk-in Wednesdays will now offer marriage licenses and passport applications without the need for an appointment, catering to the uptick in demand associated with travel plans and the onset of wedding season.

"Demand for marriage licenses and passport application services increases each spring as people make travel plans and wedding season begins," McMullen shared in a statement. "I’m excited to work with my Recording and Records Management division staff to offer more flexible access to local government services." Despite the increased accessibility, residents are encouraged to complete the online marriage application in advance if possible.

Located at the Clackamas County Recording Division, 1710 Red Soils Ct., Suite 110, marriage licenses are available on walk-in Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments can still be made for Mondays through Fridays at selected times for those preferring a scheduled slot. Moreover, Clerk McMullen officiates wedding ceremonies at the recording division, mostly on Fridays, but an appointment is required. Residents can schedule their ceremonies by calling the Recording Division at 503-655-8551, where notary services are also offered throughout the week.

For those looking to travel abroad, passport application services, including photos, are available at the Clackamas County Records Management Division office, at 1810 Red Soils Ct. Suite 120. On walk-in Wednesdays, passport services are offered from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Appointments continue to be available on other weekdays during similar hours for those who can't make it on a Wednesday or prefer to have a set time.

McMullen and team are committed to inclusive service, providing accommodations for residents with disabilities and those who speak languages other than English. The office staff are equipped with multilingual capabilities, covering languages such as English, Chinese (Mandarin), Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. Should a bilingual staff member be unavailable or another language is requested, the office utilizes remote video interpretation services to bridge the language barrier, ensuring meaningful access for all Clackamas County residents.
