The city of Dallas awoke to a blanket of fog this morning, with visibility dropping to a quarter mile or less in certain areas, prompting the National Weather Service in Fort Worth to issue a Dense Fog Advisory effective till 10 AM CDT.
Motorists faced hazardous conditions on the roads today, the advisory included a swathe of north central and northeast Texas, covering major cities including Dallas and Plano, residents were advised to slow down and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles due to the low visibility, in which driving conditions have become difficult, the thick fog started to lift around mid-morning, but the weather remained a topic of concern with the potential for showers and thunderstorms later in the evening intensifying, per the National Weather Service.
As the fog dissipated, the weather forecast for Dallas promises a mostly sunny day with temperatures possibly reaching 87 degrees, followed by a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms post-10 PM, according to the National Weather Service.
Looking further ahead, the weekend appears to offer relief with partly sunny skies on Friday, and sunnier outlooks for Saturday and Sunday, with highs lingering comfortably in the mid-80s, preparatory measures for the anticipated showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms come Monday are advised, especially as temperatures continue to climb towards the 90s, Dallas residents can expect the classic push-pull of spring in Texas where any given week might hand us sunshine warmth and, quite suddenly, an evening of booming thunder shaking the skies.
