The Latino Cultural Center is welcoming Dallas youngsters to immerse themselves in the world of art and sound this summer with two creatively charged programs. First up is the Cyanotype Photography Workshop scheduled for May 24, where kids aged 9 to 12 can dive into old-school photography techniques, according to the City of Dallas.
Under the expert guidance of instructor Ronaldo Bolanos, budding artists will dabble with cyanotypes, using sunlight as their paintbrush to capture images on specially treated paper. This throwback to photography's origins promises both an educational and hands-on experience, all provided free of charge by the Latino Cultural Center. While registration does not assure a spot and spots are limited, every attempt will be made to accommodate the young enthusiasts or at least place them on the waiting list.
Then, waving the flag for all the aspiring beatmakers and podcasters out there, Let The Beat Build has teamed up with the same cultural hub for ‘Beats Camp’, a three-week musical adventure starting soon. Geared for the middle school crowd, this camp aims to teach participants about beat production, digital storytelling through podcasts, and visual design, with a bonus focus on self-confidence and cultural expression.
Open for a limited number of registrants, the camp promotes self-expression and technological creativity, offering a unique summer experience without hitting the wallets of the participants or their guardians. Instructed by industry insiders and cultural experts, the camp's curriculum is designed to serve as a creative launchpad for students to amplify their musical and artistic talents.
