Repairs are currently underway in DeKalb County following a contractor's mishap that left residents near 2046 Drew Valley Road in Brookhaven experiencing low water pressure or none at all. According to a recent update from DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management, a 16” water main was broken during a service line installation conducted by a contractor, resulting in a distressing interruption to the neighborhood's water supply, as per the County's release.
As crews work to promptly repair the damage, the Department has ensured that bottled water is available at Drew Valley Road for those affected as a temporary relief measure. While the repair is not yet completed, the County is distributing this stopgap resource out of necessity. Officials have encouraged residents who are dealing with water service issues to get in touch with the DeKalb County Watershed Department via email at [email protected] or by calling 770-270-6243 to report their issues.
The County hasn't specified an exact timeline for when full water service will be restored, but they have promised to provide further updates as they become available. The DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management remains on site, continuing efforts to not only fix the broken main but to ameliorate the impact on the neighborhood.
Further updates will be posted on the County's official website and communicated directly to residents seeking information.
