A recent collaborative effort between the Denver Police Department, Aurora Police Department, the Iron Sharp Community Foundation, and community volunteers successfully tackled the cleaning of the East Colfax corridor, according to an announcement posted by Denver Police on social media.
The "Colfax Clean-Up" event, taking place on April 19 led to impressive outcomes with participants collecting over 50 full 30-gallon bags of trash; this not only included the trash but also involved removal of graffiti, power-washing of sidewalks and altogether left the area looking renewed, the Denver Police Department shared in their post touting the success of the initiative, and the community's role in it was pivotal considering that 75 volunteers turned out to assist in the clean-up efforts that bright Sunday.
