Last Friday, as families filled the stands and faculty lined the stage with proud gazes, the El Paso ISD celebrated a major milestone: the graduation of the first-ever P-TECH class among the Class of 2025. These students, hailing from the Coronado, Franklin, and Jefferson P-TECH programs, marked a historic moment for the district, taking a leap from high school to career readiness in one ceremonial stride.

El Paso ISD highlighted the day's achievements in an article on their website. The district showcased how 53 students from TMECHS walked away with Associate of Science degrees, on top of the 17 who graduated early and have already started coursework at UTEP. Not to be outdone, Franklin had its share of standouts with 10 students securing Level I Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificates and 33 completing their Associate degrees.

At Coronado, 28 graduates celebrated earning Associate of Arts degrees in fields like Accounting, Business, and Economics. Walking hand in hand with their academic accomplishments, these graduates also received Advanced Accounting Industry-Based Certifications and volunteered as tax preparers through GECU's VITA program. Meanwhile, Burges Early College High School (BECHS) saw 70 of its students earn Associate of Arts degrees in Multidisciplinary Studies, additionally, 13 students had the distinction of graduating earlier in December.

Finally, Jefferson made its mark by having seven of its graduates complete Associate degrees coupled with workforce certifications in the medical field. They stand prepared to enter the healthcare industry with considerable expertise and confidence. According to El Paso ISD, this year's graduates epitomize the district's commitment to "innovation, equity, and workforce development."
