
Elizabeth Scott, a seasoned deputy warden at Montgomery State Prison, is stepping into a new role as superintendent at Treutlen Probation Detention Center, announced the Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. According to a recent press release, Scott's appointment will be effective come Sunday, placing her in charge of supervising male offenders and managing the facility staff.
In the words of Commissioner Oliver, "Elizabeth has worked her way up through the ranks and excelled at each position she has held," signaling a commitment to continuity and growth within Georgia's correctional facilities. Scott's career path, beginning in 2006 as a Correctional Officer at Telfair State Prison, has been a steady ascent, marked by promotions to roles such as Sergeant at Montgomery SP, Lieutenant, Captain, and finally, Deputy Warden in 2024, indicative of her experience and knowledge in the field, as detailed by the Georgia Department of Corrections release. Scott brings with her a comprehensive portfolio of departmental trainings, including Basic Correctional Officer Training, Sergeants Academy, Chief of Security Training, POST Instructor Training, and Supervision I, II, and III.
Her impending tenure as superintendent aligns with the Georgia Department of Corrections' mission to uphold the highest standards of security and protection for those within the prison walls and the communities that lay beyond them, according to the department's statement.
