
A fatal accident occurred on the streets of Houston last night. According to an official report by the Houston Police Department, there was a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at around 9 p.m. at the 200 East Crosstimbers Street. The collision claimed the life of a female pedestrian, whose name has not yet been released pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, led by Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer D. Thompson, reported that the driver of a maroon Nissan Titan was going eastbound on the fateful road when he collided with the pedestrian. The victim was said to be crossing southbound but was not within the safety of a crosswalk. She was quickly transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver involved in the incident stayed on the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. An assessment revealed that the driver did not show signs of intoxication. After questioning, he was released as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash continues.
