The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced that the final days of the 2025 coastal razor clam season will begin on Saturday. Digging will be available for six more days during low tide mornings. "There was lots of successful spring digging during this past tide series, and it is looking like more of the same for the last digs of the season," said Bryce Blumenthal, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's recreational razor clam manager.
Razor clam digs will take place from May 10 to May 15 at Long Beach, Twin Harbors, and Copalis. The first dig starts at midnight on Saturday, with low tide at 5:58 a.m. at 0.1 feet. Digging will continue through May 15, with tides as low as -0.9 feet. The Department of Health has confirmed the clams are safe to eat. The daily limit is 15 clams per person, and all diggers must keep their first 15 clams. A valid 2025-2026 fishing license is required for everyone aged 15 and older, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife reminds razor clam diggers to avoid disturbing snowy plover nesting areas, which are located on Midway Beach, from Second Avenue in Ocean City to the north end of Copalis Beach, and at the north end of Long Beach. Visitors should also clean up food and trash, keep pets leashed, respect dunes, and follow posted signs marking protected areas. Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife plans to announce tentative digging dates for the 2025–2026 season after summer evaluations and domoic acid testing are completed.
