Want to play an active role in shaping your city's future? Garland residents have a fresh opportunity to influence local governance as the City is currently seeking applicants for its various boards and commissions. These bodies, numbering over 13 in total, function as advisory or quasi-judicial entities, assisting the Garland City Council in matters that range from urban planning to cultural festivities.
The call for applicants was announced yesterday, and interested parties are encouraged to step forward and submit their applications to the City Secretary’s Office. Candidates can access forms on the City Secretary’s page and proceed to email them to [email protected] or mail them via the U.S. Postal Service to the City of Garland.
Applicants eager to steer the communal ship towards prosperous and culturally aware horizons are welcomed, the interface between the governing body and the citizenry being a critical pillar in the democratic process that cannot be overstated, the application deadline being Tuesday, July 1.
