Governor Stitt expressed his confidence in her abilities, emphasizing her "wealth of legal experience, a strong commitment to justice, and a deep understanding of family law," according to a statement on the Oklahoma government's official website.
Dana Hada manages a legal career that spans both private practice and public service, owning Dana Hada Law, LLC, and working in affiliation with the Barney Law Office in Weatherford. While her private practice covers a spectrum of family law issues, her role in public service is just as dynamic, serving as the Assistant District Attorney for Dewey County. In addition to representing the Town of Shattuck as the municipal attorney, she also serves the Town of Arnett as municipal judge, a position of responsibility she juggles along with her other duties.
In response to her appointment, Hada stated her appreciation and recognized the significance of the position. "It's an incredible honor to be appointed to serve the people of Custer County," Hada said as per the Office of Governor website. "I've built my career around helping families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring that same compassion, fairness, and commitment to justice to the bench." Besides her legal practice, Hada dedicates time to education, teaching legal issues at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and serving the Oklahoma Bar Association as an Associate Bar Examiner. Her presidency of the Custer County Bar Association in 2018 reflects her continuous influence within the legal community. Rounding out her contributions to legal education, she, Hada also imparts knowledge and guidance as an educator. The community of Weatherford, where she resides with her husband, Dustin, and daughter, benefits not just from her legal expertise but also from her active participation in local affairs, including attending the First Baptist Church in Weatherford.
Hada's academic achievements trace back to her Indiana roots, where she earned a bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
