Gwinnett County's District 1 Commissioner, Kirkland Carden, is stepping out of the government building and into the community with a fresh initiative aimed at bridging the gap between local leaders and the public they serve. The new series, dubbed Carden Connects, invited residents to engage in an informal town hall setting, kicking things off at Peachy Corners Café earlier today, as reported by GwinnettCounty.com.
The initiative, which aimed to foster open dialogue in relaxed environments, took place today from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Constituents dropped by, enjoyed a coffee, and chatted with Commissioner Carden on a first-name basis about the issues, plans, and ideas that matter most to them. It was a chance to cut through the usual layers of bureaucracy and get straight to the heart of their community. Carden told GwinnettCounty.com, “I believe the best ideas come from the community, and Carden Connects is about showing up where people already are - their favorite cafés, community centers or neighborhood spots.”
Details about the inaugural event at Peachy Corners Café, situated at 6365 Spalding Drive, Peachtree Corners, and subsequent events can be found on the county's official website, offering residents the convenience to inform themselves at their leisure.
