Clackamas County voters now have an additional location to maximize their electoral participation with the Happy Valley Vote Center's opening within the Happy Valley Library. Opening its doors to the public on May 5, this temporary vote center is set up to serve for the May 20 Special District Election. According to Clackamas County's recent announcement, the vote center will offer extended services to voters from Happy Valley, Sandy, Damascus, and other northeast communities.
Voters can replace a lost or damaged ballot, update their voter registration information, and request assistance due to a disability or language preference at this new location. “Clackamas County Elections increases access to voting services with the Happy Valley Vote Center, making it possible for every eligible voter to be able to vote hassle-free,” stated Clerk Catherine McMullen as citizens now have the option to cast their votes in one of two places: the main Clackamas County Elections Office in Oregon City, or the Happy Valley library's setup.
The Happy Valley Vote Center, nestled inside the Happy Valley Library at 13793 SE Sieben Park Way, will operate from May 5 through May 20. Its counterpart and year-round service provider, the Clackamas County Elections Office, located at 1710 Red Soils Ct., Suite 100 in Oregon City, will continue to offer voter support. Both locations will welcome voters from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. They will also be open on Saturday, May 17, from 10 AM to 2 PM, and on Election Day, Tuesday, May 20, from 7 AM to 8 PM.
Voters who have registered but need to update their registration details can do so until 8 PM on Election Day, May 20. This extends to residence or mailing address changes, requiring an absentee ballot, updating signatures, or a name change. Voters are advised to mail their ballots with a valid postmark or return them to an Official Ballot Drop Site by the Election Day deadline. For added convenience, Clackamas County Elections has specified that no postage is needed, and ballots should be mailed by Friday, May 16, to ensure timely arrival. The county has 25 Official Ballot Drop Sites available, and for those affected by the temporary closure at ColtonTel due to construction, alternative locations have been suggested.
