A high-speed pursuit led to a multi-vehicle crash in the San Fernando Valley, leaving a trail of debris and multiple individuals injured, according to local authorities. The cascade of collisions began around 7:40 a.m. Friday after a driver in a white Honda Civic, clocked at speeds exceeding 125 mph by the California Highway Patrol, failed to yield during an attempted traffic stop on the 405 Freeway.

Despite the valiant efforts of the officers, whose chase was brief, the Civic continued to traverse city streets before carelessly plowing into a pickup truck and several other vehicles. As reported by ABC7, at least two people were injured in the crash sequence, which saw the truck spinning out of control and colliding with an additional car on Sepulveda Boulevard near Nordhoff Street.

The aftermath of the crash caused considerable disruption and damage. Impacting, among other damage, at least four parked vehicles were smashed, with striking images of the collision captured by SkyCAL pointing towards significant damage. CBS Los Angeles confirmed that the high-speed suspect attempted to flee the scene but was subsequently detained and taken to a local hospital in an unknown condition.

Witnesses to the incident captured harrowing footage, evidencing the Civic's collision with the pickup as it attempted a left turn into a parking lot. According to a video shared with KTLA, the pickup truck was sent spinning into oncoming traffic, leading to additional crashes, and at least five vehicles suffered major damage.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded promptly to the scene, transporting two people to the hospital, including the suspect driver. The exact conditions of those involved in the crash remain undisclosed, and an investigation by the CHP into the incident continues.
