Hillsborough County has announced closures and service changes in observance of Memorial Day on Monday next week. Most county offices and facilities will be closed, including the main Customer Service Center, recreation centers, libraries, community resource centers, the Pet Resource Center, and Development Services.

According to the Hillsborough County website, there will be no solid waste collection—garbage, recycling, or yard waste—for residents in unincorporated service areas. If your regular collection day is Monday, services will resume on your next scheduled pickup day. Resource recovery and administrative offices will also be closed. Emergency water and wastewater issues can be reported by calling (813) 744-5600, but Water Resources customer service centers will not be open.

Animal Control will have limited staff available for emergencies and can be reached at (813) 744-5660.

Parks and outdoor facilities, including dog and skate parks, conservation areas, nature preserves, and trails, will remain open. Veterans Memorial Park, located at 3602 U.S. 301 N., Tampa, will host its 28th Annual Memorial Day Observance at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The park will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with free admission and parking.
