Houston is expected to see more storms today, with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Skies will be mostly sunny, with a high near 87 degrees and south winds at 5 to 15 mph. Tonight, the chance of rain decreases to 10 percent, with increasing clouds and a low around 72 degrees. Winds will continue from the south, according to the National Weather Service.
On Friday, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with a high near 86 degrees. Rainfall may range from a tenth to a quarter of an inch, with locally higher amounts possible during thunderstorms.
As per FOX 26 Houston, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for several northern counties, including Trinity, Walker, Grimes, and Washington, until midnight, replacing an earlier Tornado Watch. The change follows severe storms and heavy rain in North Texas, and Houston may be affected depending on the storm's path.
Storm chances are expected to continue through the week, with the potential for strong or heavy storms. Storm activity is expected to decrease by the end of the weekend and on Monday, but rain chances are forecast to rise again by midweek.
