A shocking home invasion incident occurred in Midtown where a woman's residence was forcibly entered by a man posing as a police officer. WREG reports that the pseudo-officer kicked in the front door of her apartment, located at Courtyard Apartments at Poplar Avenue and Bellevue Boulevard, around 5 p.m. last Saturday. The suspect then proceeded to ransack her home before making off with her vehicle.

The Memphis Police Department shared details about the suspect, later identified as Talley. Kicking in her door, Talley claimed he was law enforcement and demanded the woman's car keys while turning her apartment inside out. According to Action News 5, after the incident, police efforts managed to track down the stolen vehicle and apprehend Talley.

Further insight into the crime was provided by Elk Valley Times, which disclosed that the woman was able to pinpoint her 2025 Toyota Corolla's location to Dallas Street in Orange Mound. Arriving at the scene, officers found Talley as he was about to enter the stolen car and executed the arrest. MPD did not reveal the specifics of how the victim managed to track her car.
