
On Mother's Day, a somber event occurred at the Florissant Police Department, when a 35-year-old man was found unresponsive in his cell at around 6 a.m. The circumstances surrounding his death have prompted the intervention of the St. Louis County Police Department, who are now spearheading the ongoing investigation, as reported by FOX2now.
The identity of the deceased man has not been disclosed by Florissant Police. St. Louis County Police, in a later update, indicated that the death may have been a suicide. Florissant Police Chief Tim Fagan responded to the incident saying, "Our department takes any in-custody death seriously," and expressed his department's commitment to an exhaustive inquiry, in a statement obtained by First Alert 4. "We are committed to a full and transparent investigation, and that's why I have asked the St. Louis County Police Department to lead the investigation. Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time," Fagan stated.
Taking into account the sensitive nature of such events, the authorities have not yet provided a timeline for the completion of the investigation or promised release of further details.
