A Jacksonville man finds himself in a familiar predicament, as local law enforcement reports a repeat offense in the drug dealing arena. Within the span of just four months, Sean Reed, now 26, was arrested for the second time on drug-related charges. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detailed the incident in a recent Facebook post, where they conveyed the chronicle of the arrest and seizure.
Last December, Reed faced charges after being caught with a substantial quantity of drugs and illegal possessions. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, officers on patrol responded to a burglary call and stumbled upon "large amounts of marijuana in plain view." The initial bust from four months prior yielded more than 160 pounds of marijuana and a cache of other items, which included edibles, marijuana oil, firearms, cash, and jewelry. Reed was released on bond and issued a plea of not guilty in court.
Fast-forward to the recent bust; authorities acted on a tip-off about a home near Fort Caroline Road being exploited for illegal drug operations. Upon Reed's departure from the suspected location, a vehicle search led to his re-arrest. The subsequent home search, conducted with a warrant, turned up additional illicit substances, firearms, and a sizable sum of money. The reported haul included "50 pounds of marijuana, 50 grams of edibles, 3 firearms, $86,881 in cash, $10K in jewelry and 4 vehicles (including a Maserati and a BMW),” the Sheriff's Office’s post read. Notably, Reed's freedom was short-lived as the judge has since revoked his bond following these recent events.
Accompanying Reed's arrest were two associates, Kaila Cleary and William Newman, who have also been taken into custody in connection with the case. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office stated in a post that they hope "Reed, Cleary and Newman learn their lesson: selling drugs in Jacksonville does not pay."
