Scott Mescudi, better known as rapper Kid Cudi, recently testified in the high-profile sex trafficking and racketeering trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs. According to The Guardian, Mescudi claimed he met Combs' ex, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, in 2008 and had a brief relationship with her in 2011. The charges against Combs include sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

In another part of his testimony, Mescudi described an alarming phone call with Ventura in December 2011, where she expressed feeling stressed and scared about Combs finding out about their relationship. As detailed in The Guardian, Mescudi picked her up and they spoke to an employee of Combs, who was waiting outside Mescudi's home, claiming that Combs and an associate were inside. Driving home to confront the situation, Mescudi found items out of place and his dog locked in the bathroom, although Combs was not present. Kid Cudi said that after calling Combs, who merely stated he wanted to talk, he discovered some items inside his house had been disturbed in his absence.

Further turmoil ensued in January 2012 when Mescudi's car was set ablaze in his driveway. A Los Angeles fire department report referred to in NBC New York confirmed that the vehicle, a Porsche, was intentionally set on fire by an incendiary device.

Federal prosecutors in a 2024 memo, which revealed allegations against Combs' participation, stated that the car fire was caused by "slicing open the car's convertible top and dropping a Molotov cocktail inside." Mescudi's testimony provided a harrowing account of finding his dog watcher informing him of the fire and receiving photos of the charred remnants of his car, as reported by the The Guardian.

Earlier testimonies in the trial included statements from Ventura and George Kaplan, a former assistant to Combs. Kaplan recounted instances of violence he witnessed Combs perpetrate against Ventura and another girlfriend. Kaplan told The Guardian about an incident where Combs threw apples at another girlfriend and how Ventura cited safety concerns as the reason to end her brief relationship with Mescudi.

Ventura's mother, Regina Ventura, also testified about Combs' alleged threats to release explicit materials and harm both her daughter and Mescudi, as per NBC New York.
