Deputies who were called to a reported fight on the 19000 block of Day Street, at approximately 12:39 a.m., found the victim unresponsive with injuries to his lower extremities. Attempts to save the man proved futile as he was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second man implicated in the altercation was detained.
An investigation spearheaded by the Perris Station Central Homicide Unit is underway, though details remain scarce. The authorities have not released further information at this point, and the identity of the deceased is withheld pending notification of family members.
