Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. has revealed an indictment against Anthony Albertorio, 38, in connection with a reported sexual assault at an Inwood laundromat earlier this year. Albertorio was charged with top-level criminal counts, including Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and Burglary in the Third Degree, among other allegations. "This alleged abuse is extremely disturbing and no employee should have to endure this at their place of work," Bragg was cited as saying in a report from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.
The incident, which occurred on February 19, allegedly saw Albertorio aggressively cornering a 41-year-old female employee, forcibly touching her and attempting to kiss her against her will. The woman reportedly made efforts to fend off Albertorio, but his actions left her shaken. As per courtroom documents and public records, a witness observed the encounter and, upon doing so Albertorio fled from the premises. He would find himself apprehended some nine days following the episode.
