A substitute teacher in Marion County is facing severe legal consequences after being arrested on charges of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and transmission of harmful material to minors. Dianely Torres, 24, was taken into custody Wednesday, with allegations swirling around her inappropriate involvement with a minor, reported by ClickOrlando.

The troubling saga came to light in February when a student witnessed Torres engaging in questionable behavior with another student and communicated to an assistant principal. Deputies were informed by a school resource officer that the teacher was seen massaging a student's head while it was in her lap. Subsequent investigations by the Marion County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) turned up nude photos of Torres and explicit drawings sent to the juvenile, as per details reported by WESH.

According to WCJB, forensic evidence revealed messages that contained Japanese manga and anime with sexual content, which were shared between Torres and the minor. Hoping to cover her tracks, Torres asked the student to erase the inappropriate exchanges. Her employer, ESS, a company utilized by Marion County Public Schools for substitute teaching positions, fired her in February, and she has not been on any MCPS campus since then.

Torres allegedly admitted to being in a "dating" relationship with the former student. She acknowledged to investigators both sending and receiving nude photographs to the victim. While confessing to certain sexual activities, she claimed that she had never engaged in sexual intercourse because she is a virgin.

The investigation is ongoing, with MCSO suggesting that there might be additional victims given Torres' prior disciplinary issues for communicating with students on Discord and her subsequent actions. Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is strongly encouraged to contact Detective Batts at (352) 368-3847 to aid in the ongoing efforts for justice.
