The gusty conditions are set to continue into the evening, with showers likely before 1 am and wind speeds dropping slightly to around 15 mph, but still capable of gusts hitting as high as 30 mph. The evening will keep the cloudy theme, and temperatures are expected to dip to around 46 degrees, maintaining a 60% chance of precipitation as per the National Weather Service. Saturday will bring mostly cloudy skies and a high near 56, with a similar breeze from the west-northwest.
Looking ahead to Saturday night, Minneapolis is forecasted to experience mostly cloudy skies with a low around 43 degrees, and the wind will ease off somewhat, calming to a northwest direction at 5 to 10 mph, says the National Weather Service. Sunday's forecast is slightly brighter with mostly sunny conditions predicted and a high near 63 degrees, offering a brief respite before more showers possibly return on Monday.
The start of the next work week could see a 50% chance of showers commencing after 1 pm on Monday, amidst partly sunny conditions and high temperatures near 62 degrees. Winds from the east might peak with gusts as high as 30 mph, reminding us that spring in Minneapolis can be capriciously gusty. According to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service, strong winds with gusts up to 50mph were possible across western and southern Minnesota today. However, no hazardous weather is expected Saturday through Thursday, giving Minnesotans a break from bracing against nature's bluster.
