
Mónica Morales has been appointed director of the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency, with her role beginning on June 4. She has more than 20 years of experience in health leadership roles across state, county, and community organizations. According to the Yolo County, her background includes managing complex health and social service systems.
Mónica Morales has been appointed to lead the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency. “We are thrilled to welcome Mónica Morales to Yolo County,” said Mary Vixie-Sandy, chair of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors. “Her demonstrated success in managing complex health and human services systems, along with her commitment to innovation and equity, make her an exceptional choice to lead HHSA." Morales previously held a leadership position at the Health Services Agency in Santa Cruz County, where she worked on reforms in Medi-Cal, substance use treatment, and other public health areas. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from University of California, Santa Cruz.
Morales has taken leadership of Yolo County’s Health and Human Services Agency during a time of change in public policy. She will focus on keeping essential services running, adapting to state and federal changes, and supporting the community’s health and safety. The Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency provides a range of services, including mental health and social programs. “I look forward to working with the dedicated HHSA staff and community partners to advance the health and social needs of the community in an equitable way during these uncertain times,” Morales said.
