Just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and several other agencies went to the 15000 block of Tyler Foote Crossing Road to serve an arrest warrant to 52-year-old Clay Leffew. He is connected to a shooting on Mother’s Day that left one person seriously injured, as reported by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office's Special Enforcement Detail, Critical Incident Negotiations Team, and Tactical Dispatch Team worked together to arrest Clay Leffew. They were supported by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the local fire department, and medical services. The Nevada County Sheriff's Office stated, "Deputies safely took 52-year-old Clay Leffew into custody without incident for Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, and Discharge of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony."

According to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, Leffew was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility and is being held without bail on charges including Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. "The investigation into the incident is continuing."
