Gearing up for a season of literary enrichment, the New Braunfels Public Library is set to kick off its annual Summer Reading Program. Themed "Color Your World," the program, launching on June 7, invites the community to explore the vibrant world of books and creative arts. New Braunfels Public Library announced an array of summer activities that promise to blend reading with a splash of fun for all ages.

The official start to the summer festivities will be a kickstart event at the Main Branch Library on Common Street. Scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event is slated to feature a karate dance party and foam party. In addition, families can look forward to vehicle tours with the Police and Fire Departments, refresh with snow cones, enjoy arts and crafts, and snag deals at a kids' book sale. In a statement released by the New Braunfels Public Library, Library Director Cole Johnson emphasized the lineup's diversity, stating, "There are a variety of events for kids and adults that are being offered throughout the summer to help you complete your activity list."

Program participants can pick up a printed game card at several locations, including the Main Branch on East Common Street and the Westside Library & Community Center, among other city buildings. These game cards serve to track completed activities, encouraging community members to not just read but to also engage with interactive programs planned for the summer. After completing five activities, participants can claim a prize starting June 23, with further rewards for completing 10 and finishing the game card, the latter granting entry into a grand prize drawing on August 1.

The season of literature and engagement will come to a close with a Summer Reading Wrap Up Party on August 2 at the Westside Library & Community Center. The complete list of events, catering both to children and adults, can be found on the New Braunfels Public Library website. As Johnson told New Braunfels Public Library, "It’s easy for the whole family to participate together and get reading this summer. Just pick up a game card to get started!"
