The Oak Creek Public Library is offering a variety of free summer programs for families, starting in June. Registration is open for many events, though space is limited. For young children, the library will host Music and Movement sessions for ages 2 to 5 on Mondays from June 16 to August 4 (excluding June 30) from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., with no registration required. Toddler Story Time is scheduled for Wednesdays at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., except on June 25 and July 2, and runs for 20 minutes per session. On Thursdays, children ages 3 to 7 can meet and learn about different city workers, while Fridays feature Intergenerational Story Time for children and seniors to share stories together.
According to the Oak Creek City, the library is also offering STEAM Labs divided by grade level, featuring hands-on activities such as robotics, simple machines, and ecosystems. A special event, Dan Gogh’s Magic and Art Show, is scheduled for June 17. Middle school students can participate in weekly Wednesday workshops focused on crafts and practical skills. For broader family participation, Family Fun Thursdays will offer rotating themes like a PBS Kids Party and DIY Art projects, with no registration required. LEGO® Club will take place on Tuesdays from June 24 through August 5 (excluding July 1), allowing children to build and collaborate with peers.
Teens can get involved through summer volunteer opportunities, with orientation sessions held in May and June. Additionally, during Rainbow Book Month in June, teens are encouraged to read LGBT+ literature and share their perspectives for a chance to win prizes. Related books will be available in the library’s second-floor YA section. Full details on times and registration requirements are available on the Oak Creek City website.
