An Ojai man, Leonel Galindo Galindo, was arrested by Ventura County District Attorney's Office investigators on May 29, 2025, for alleged lewd acts upon two minors. According to the official press release, Galindo faces eight felony charges, with special allegations related to molesting multiple victims and abusing a position of trust.
In his initial court appearance, Galindo entered a not guilty plea for each charge. The reported incidents occurred between 2018 and 2020, in Santa Paula, where Galindo had access to the victims through a familial relationship. "The protection of children is our highest priority," Chief Investigator Scott Whitney stated in the press release, emphasizing the commitment of their team to justice. Galindo's employment location, where he was taken into custody without incident, was not disclosed.
The investigation was led by the Bureau of Investigation’s Sexual Assault Family Protection Unit and is being prosecuted by Senior Deputy District Attorney Brent Nibecker of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Sexual Assault Unit. Galindo currently remains in custody at the Ventura County Main Jail with bail set at $2.4 million. His bail review hearing is scheduled for June 3, 2025, in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court.
