The Oklahoma House Democratic Caucus is poised to welcome a new leadership team following recent elections within the party. As reported by the Oklahoma House Government website, Rep. Melissa Provenzano from Tulsa will be stepping into the role of Leader-elect, while Rep. Jared Deck of Norman has secured the position of Caucus Chair-elect, and Rep. Ellyn Hefner from Oklahoma City will be taking on the duties of Caucus Vice Chair-elect.
"I am deeply proud of the Oklahoma House Democratic Caucus for committing themselves to doing the hard work for all Oklahomans every day," House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson told the Oklahoma House Government website. She expressed full confidence in the incoming leaders, citing their dedication to the service of all Oklahomans. Leader-elect Provenzano echoed this commitment, affirming that Oklahomans deserve leaders who actively work towards making it possible to build their lives in this independent and strong state.
The elected officials did not hold back in outlining their vision for Oklahoma's future. With a steadfast belief that living should cost less, education must be free and of quality, accessible healthcare is a right, and that retirement should be comfortable, the incoming leadership team is setting a clear direction for their term. "We look forward to telling the story of what it means to be an Oklahoma Democrat," the leadership team promised in a collective statement released by the Oklahoma House.
Rep. Deck plans to prioritize the "development of our team as we work to address the tangible needs of working families and inspire the next generation of public servants," according to his statement to the Oklahoma House Government website. Together, they plan to shift the state towards a future filled with hope, with Vice Chair-elect Hefner emphasizing the goal of putting people first in their approach to governance.
Current leaders Rep. Cyndi Munson, Rep. Trish Ranson, and Rep. John Waldron will continue to serve in their respective positions until November 3, 2026. The newly elected officials—Rep. Provenzano, Rep. Deck, and Rep. Hefner—are set to assume their roles the following day.
