
An Oklahoma man, identified as 56-year-old Bee Vang from Oktaha, was fatally injured after his pickup truck was struck by a train in Muskogee County yesterday morning. KOCO reports that the accident occurred just after 8:20 a.m., near the intersection of W 103rd Street South and Oktaha Road, about 2.5 miles northeast of Oktaha, where Vang's vehicle failed to yield to a Union Pacific Railroad engine at a railroad crossing.
The force of the impact propelled Vang's pickup approximately 1,000 feet before coming to a stop. Vang was pronounced dead at the scene, having succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the train's engineer was not injured. In a somber detail, KTUL mentioned that Vang was pinned for approximately two hours and eight minutes before being extricated by the Fire Department.
Details on why the pickup failed to yield remain under investigation, with railroad crossings known for being sites requiring heightened vigilance. According to FOX23, the collision time was pinned down to 8:23 a.m. by the OHP, offering a precise timeline to the morning's tragic events.
