
After a two-month narcotics operation spearheaded by the Peabody Police Department, two individuals have been taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant. The address, listed as 103 Central Street, Apartment 211, became the focal point of an investigation responding to drug activity concerns voiced by community members. The successful sting, leading to these arrests, underscores local law enforcement's dedicated effort in combating the spread of illegal substances.
The individuals, identified as William G. Stanton and Jennifer Stanton, both 51, face serious charges involving trafficking and possession with intent to distribute multiple classes of drugs. According to a social media post by the Peabody Police Department, the couple has been charged with trafficking a Class A Substance, four counts of possession with intent to distribute Class B Substances, two counts of possession with intent to distribute Class C Substances, and two counts of Possession of Class E Substances.
The involved divisions included the Peabody Police Criminal Investigations Division and the Patrol Division, who were ably assisted by a Salem K9 unit during the search warrant execution. This cooperative endeavor underscores the multisectoral approach necessary for these kind of operations to bear fruit. Peabody Police Chief Thomas Griffin lauded the team’s effort, stating, "This investigation reflects our department’s ongoing commitment to addressing illegal drug activity and keeping our neighborhoods safe."
Substances consistent with the distribution of narcotics were seized at the scene, solidifying the charges against the couple.
