Authorities are on the hunt for at least two suspects thought to be linked to a spate of commercial burglaries in Philadelphia's 2nd and 15th Districts. The prime suspect, Marcos Neto, is currently wanted for Commercial Burglary & related offenses, according to a recent report by the Philadelphia Police Department. Investigators have drawn connections between the crimes through similarities in the approach taken by the thieves and their choice of targets—auto shops and industrial suppliers appear to be the preferred marks.
Neto, whose description includes several distinctive tattoos on his right hand and neck area, has been seen on surveillance footage trying to hide his right hand, presumably to avoid identification. Spotted in the 2nd District around Castor and Levick Streets, Neto is believed to be moving on foot under the cover of night. In conjunction with the ongoing investigation, residents and business owners have been alerted to be on the lookout for individuals matching his description and to exercise enhanced security measures.
One incident, labeled as DC# 25-02-006950, serves as a stark example of the burglaries in question. On February 15, at approximately 4:19am, Philadelphia Police were dispatched to Royal Car Center at 3950 E. Roosevelt following a call about a "Person with a weapon." Officers arrived to find the side glass window of the establishment shattered. According to the business's keyholder, security cameras caught an individual removing three untraceable iPhones. The suspect in this burglary was described as a Caucasian or Latino male in a blue hoodie, gray sweat pants, and white sneakers, complete with black gloves and a skull cap.
Residents and business owners in the affected districts are encouraged to report any suspicious activity that may be related to the ongoing burglaries to local law enforcement. If an individual sees anyone resembling the suspect, they are advised not to engage but immediately contact the Philadelphia Police. As the community remains vigilant, authorities hope that the increased awareness will lead to a swift resolution and the apprehension of Neto and any cohorts still at large.
