The Placer County District Attorney's Office announced that last Monday, Michael George Beltram was sentenced by Judge Horst to five years in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The sentence relates to charges involving a minor, as reported by the Placer County District Attorney's Office.

Beginning in November 2023, 41-years-old Beltram communicated with a 14-year-old girl, starting with simple texts asking about her day. The messages then escalated to inappropriate requests. After the victim’s parents alerted the Roseville Police Department, officers warned Beltram that his communications were inappropriate and ordered him to stop contact. Despite this, Beltram had a third party deliver a package to the girl months later, disregarding the police warning, as stated by the Placer County District Attorney's Office.

According to the Placer County District Attorney's Office on their Facebook page, a package containing a cell phone, other items, and a note from Beltram asking the victim to keep their communication secret was recovered. Messages from the phone showed Beltram attempting to conceal contact and expressing his feelings for the minor. Beltram was arrested, convicted, and sentenced to prison. He is also required to register as a sex offender under Penal Code section 290.
