In recognition of Stop the Bleed Month, the Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management is offering a lifeline—free training that arms participants with the knowledge to stem the tide of blood from injuries in those pivotal moments before professional responders arrive. According to a post on the Rockwall County website, the Stop the Bleed® course is scheduled for May 19 from 5 to 6:30 PM at the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office. Gaining this expertise doesn't cost anything, but it could be the price of saving a life.
The session plans to cover hands-on practice with tourniquets, techniques for packing wounds, and essential actions that can staunch severe bleeding and increase chances of survival in emergencies.
Rockwall residents are advised to register promptly to ensure a spot in this potentially life-saving session. Given that spaces may fill up, interested parties are encouraged to secure participation through the link to more information accompanying the online notice.
