The City of Sacramento continues its efforts to address the ongoing homelessness situation, with its Incident Management Team (IMT) responding to a total of 782 calls regarding unsheltered individuals between April 28 and May 4. These numbers have come directly from the City's most recent progress report which also highlights the closure of 924 calls, indicating that the issues were either remedied or the sites no longer required intervention when inspected by City staff. This information was detailed in a report published on Wednesday by the Sacramento City Express.

During this time, 54 people experiencing homelessness were added to databases to help connect them with shelter and services. Another 22 were placed into housing at the City’s Roseville Road campus or the Outreach and Engagement Center (OEC). By the end of the week, the Roseville Road site was full, with no Pallet homes or trailers available, but other City-funded shelters still had an average of 17 open spots—not including Roseville or the OEC, according to the Sacramento City Express.

Along with helping people, the City’s team also removed 197,220 pounds of trash in one week, showing the size of the cleanup effort, as obtained by the Sacramento City Express. Their work helps keep public spaces clean while supporting those in need. You can see all of their progress on the City’s data dashboard, which tracks weekly updates since September 2023, including outreach, compliance, and cleanup totals.
