A 30-year-old cafeteria worker at East Central High School in San Antonio has been arrested and charged with having an alleged sexual relationship with a high school student. Jenna Michelle Woodworth, who worked in the school's Child Nutrition Department since October 2021, was charged with Improper Relationship Between Educator/Student, as per documents cited by KENS5.
An affidavit mentions that last Monday, Woodworth picked up the student from a stadium parking lot and took him through an employee entrance to the Learning Academy Cafeteria, where both then engaged in sexual intercourse inside a closet as reported by KENS5, and then the same occurred the following day surveillance video captured the two moving from one area of the cafeteria to the closet used for these encounters, the victim also admitted that communication with Woodworth had been ongoing since his freshman year, and he described prior instances where Woodworth expressed disapproval if he didn't acknowledge her presence.
According to a statement obtained by FOX San Antonio, Woodworth admitted to the relationship, and during a subsequent search, a photograph of the student was discovered in her work-issued locker.
Meanwhile, East Central ISD has since terminated Woodworth's employment and released a statement noting that they "took immediate and decisive action" following the discovery and are working with law enforcement to ensure the case is addressed, according to KENS5.
Lori Whittmeyer from Search & Support San Antonio, in an interview with KENS5, highlighted the troubling nature of this event, indicating it's "a situation in which grooming had taken place over a series of years in which an adult took advantage of a minor for her purposes of her own gratification"; she also urged parents to remind their children that just because someone is an adult.
