
City of New Orleans young adults seeking career opportunities can expect a more engaging experience this Cinco de Mayo weekend. In a collaboration involving the Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office, city departments, schools, local businesses, and community organizations, a Young Adult Career Fair is set to unfold, offering both job prospects and a side of culture with free burritos up for grabs. The event, according to the City of New Orleans recent article, aims to merge professional development with community celebration.
The fair will take place on May 3 at 11 a.m. in the New Orleans Science and Math High School Gym. It’s designed to support students exploring career options. Attendees can visit employer booths, take part in on-the-spot interviews, meet professionals, and enjoy burritos in celebration of the holiday, as reported by the City of New Orleans.
Beyond employment discussions, those in attendance can expect one-on-one career coaching and assistance crafting or refining their résumés. According to the announcement, there's also the opportunity to learn about local job training programs and tap into an array of community resources designed to bolster career paths, as per the City of New Orleans. The fair is free and open to everyone, and you don’t need to register in advance. It will be held in the 2nd-floor gym at 2011 Bienville St., with entry from Conti Street. Parking is limited.
