A 20-year-old man was arrested Monday following a West Seattle incident that left one person stabbed and another robbed. According to the Seattle Police Department Blotter, police responded to the scene at approximately 5:50 p.m. on the 2700 block of California Avenue Southwest. There, they found a 47-year-old man with a stab wound to his arm. He was attended to and later transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
The chain of violent events didn't end with the stabbing. The same suspect is said to have forcefully taken a phone from another victim, grabbing the person's arm in the process, and went on to threaten a third individual with a knife. Neither of the latter two victims sustained physical injuries.
Eyewitness accounts were crucial in the aftermath as multiple onlookers directed officers towards a suspect seen running with a knife and a skateboard. This aided the police in swiftly securing the area and deploying a K9 unit for the search. According to the SPD Blotter, authorities located the suspect near 51st Avenue and Southwest Pritchard Street.
Following the arrest, the Seattle Fire Department evaluated the apprehended man, who appeared unharmed at the time. He has since been booked into King County Jail on the grounds of suspected assault and robbery. The investigation is ongoing, spearheaded by detectives from the Homicide and Assault Unit.
