A city official from Seguin has been placed under arrest on charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material. Kyle Kramm, who holds the post as the director of the Main Street and Convention and Visitors Bureau, is now facing serious legal scrutiny after Guadalupe County Sheriff's deputies executed an arrest at his residence on Thursday.
The items discovered at the 600 block of New Braunfels Street—where Kramm resides—included digital images and videos that have been classified as child pornography. According to Fox San Antonio, Kramm now faces charges of possession or promotion of child pornography. The nature of these allegations casts a shadow over a city official once positioned to promote and represent the community of Seguin.
In the wake of this unsettling news, the City of Seguin promptly issued a public statement, implying the gravity with which they are treating these recent developments. "We take this matter seriously and are closely monitoring the situation," the city's words affirmed. Kramm's current employment status reflects this sentiment, as he has been suspended and placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation into the charges against him, as per KSAT news.
Additional legal complications may loom on the horizon for Kramm. As reported by KSAT, the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office has not ruled out the possibility of further charges as the case unfolds further. In the meantime, the city reassured that their cooperation with authorities will remain unwavering. "We will cooperate fully with authorities as needed and continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and citizens," the City of Seguin conveyed in an additional comment.
