St. Louis residents now have increased options for debris disposal as the city opens two additional drop-off sites—with another on the horizon. The City of St. Louis Government took to social media to announce the expansion, urging residents who can to utilize one of the three active locations. The newly available sites are located at Marshall School on 4322 Aldine Ave. and DeAndreis/Bunche School at 4257 Clarence Ave. They join the existing drop-off point at Farragut Elementary on 4025 Sullivan Ave.
In the Facebook post, the city reassured residents that street-side debris collection will continue uninterrupted. "We will continue to pick up debris left by the curb, so if you can't bring debris to one of the drop-off sites, don't worry - it will still get picked up," the City of St. Louis Government officials stated. The effort is aimed at streamlining cleanup processes and accommodating individuals who are able to self-transport debris, easing the burden on municipal services which are operating at full tilt to manage debris following recent events.
Alongside offering a helping hand to the City of St. Louis Government cleanup crews, the new drop-off sites represent a part of a more extensive effort to keep St. Louis clean and safe for all its residents. This proactive approach by the city has been met with appreciation by locals, with many taking to social media to express support for the initiative. Community-minded citizens are reminded to adhere to guidelines regarding what types of debris can be accepted at the sites to ensure efficient processing.
The City of St. Louis Government has not yet announced the location or the expected opening date of the fourth debris drop-off site but has promised further updates soon as part of their ongoing communication with the public.
