The National Weather Service in Honolulu reports that breezy trade winds will continue across the islands. A high-pressure system north-northwest of Hawaii is causing steady moderate to strong winds. These winds will bring clouds and showers mostly to windward and mountain areas, with a chance of some showers reaching leeward areas, according to the National Weather Service.

Trade winds will continue across Hawaii this week due to a high-pressure system about 1,050 miles north-northwest of Honolulu. Showers are expected at night and in the early morning in windward areas, with some afternoon showers on the Big Island's leeward side. Strong winds may also bring occasional showers to other leeward areas. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through Saturday evening for Maalaea Bay, Kauai’s northwest and leeward waters, and the channels around Maui County and the Big Island. The advisory may be extended to other areas over the weekend if conditions change, as reported by the National Weather Service.

A high-pressure system is bringing breezy trade winds and mostly clear weather, with occasional reduced visibility due to showers over windward and mountainous areas. AIRMET Tango for turbulence and AIRMET Sierra for mountain obscuration are in effect. A south-southwest swell is expected to peak late Saturday into Sunday, increasing surf on south-facing shores. East-facing shores will have rough, choppy waves, and surf on north-facing shores is expected to rise by late Sunday due to a northwest swell, as stated by the National Weather Service.
