
In a notable achievement for Sterling Heights entrepreneurship, Greg and Shelley McArthur, the dynamic duo behind NTL Industries, have garnered national recognition by clinching the title of the 2025 National Small Business Persons of the Year, an accolade announced by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) during National Small Business Week. According to the Sterling Heights City Government, the couple's venture has flourished from its modest garage origins to a 13,200-square-foot CNC precision machining facility, becoming a cornerstone in defense and aerospace.
Michigan's very own SBA District Director, Laketa Henderson, praised the couple's exemplary journey, their efforts from the early days in their garage to their current operations that support our national defense, is a showcase of the resilient American spirit, “From humble beginnings to a thriving manufacturing business making vital contributions to national defense, they embody the innovation, grit, and community-minded leadership we celebrate during National Small Business Week," as stated to Sterling Heights news release. Behind this success story lies years of dedication and an unwavering commitment to innovation, which all began with just two employees and has since expanded to a full-time staff of 13, showcasing not only an impressive business model but also the impact of an empowered couple leading the charge in a competitive industry.
Leading by example, Shelley McArthur has made NTL Industries stand out as an SBA-certified Women-Owned Small Business, solidifying the company's reputation in government contracting with the support from various SBA programs, including the APEX Accelerators. Beyond their professional success, the McArthurs have also invested time and resources into their community, offering support to engineering students by donating custom parts to Formula One racing teams from Michigan universities, a commendable gesture that fosters growth in the next generation of engineers and innovators.
